Multi-year contract renewal secures continued operation of retail and mobile sports betting powered by IGT PlaySports
IGT has signed a two-year contract extension with the Rhode Island Lottery, ensuring the continuation of statewide retail and mobile sports betting in Rhode Island through at least November 2028. The agreement confirms that the state’s sports wagering operations will remain powered by IGT PlaySports technology.
The renewal builds on a long-standing collaboration between IGT, the Rhode Island Lottery and Caesars Sportsbook, which have jointly delivered retail and mobile sports betting in the state since 2018.
Joe Bertolone, Senior Vice President of Sports Betting at IGT, said the extension reflects the strength of the partnership and IGT’s continued investment in product quality:

Under the renewed agreement, IGT will continue to provide its end-to-end PlaySports platform, supporting both retail sportsbooks and the state’s mobile betting app. The extension underlines Rhode Island’s commitment to a single-operator, lottery-led sports betting model, which channels wagering revenues directly toward public funding priorities.
Since its launch, Rhode Island’s regulated sports betting market has been positioned as a stable revenue source for the state, benefiting from technology upgrades and ongoing product enhancements delivered by IGT.
