URUGUAY – New casino to open in Rio Branco
Will be operational in the last fortnight of September or the first days of October
Uruguay’s gaming regulators, Dirección Nacional de Casinos – DNC, have decided to authorize a casino operation in Rio Branco, in northern Uruguay, located at the mall Shopping Panda, one of the attractions of the city.
DNC chief, Javier Chá, celebrated the decision: “We are very excited. Last week we signed the contract with the company that owns the shopping mall. We had already announced it and we now realize what we had expressed at the time about this possibility, “said Chá. “Also, that the gaming hall will be operational in the last fortnight of September or the first days of October.”

According to the DNC executive, the Casino in Rio Branco (on the border with Brazil) seeks to attract public from the neighbouring country. “A service will be offered to the entire population, both Brazilians and Uruguayans. We’ll have a party for the inauguration,” Cha added.
In addition, Chá celebrated the “step forward that it gives DNC to open more gambling businesses in the interior of the country,” explaining also that the Rio Branco casino will have about 110 or 120 electronic gaming machines but will not have gaming tables.
