The Visualize Group completes acquisition of BMM Testlabs in first private equity control deal for a major gaming test lab

Visualize has completed its acquisition of BMM Testlabs following multi-jurisdiction regulatory approvals, positioning BMM for global expansion in gaming compliance infrastructure

The Visualize Group (“Visualize”) has completed its acquisition of BMM Testlabs (“BMM”), a provider of testing, inspection, compliance and certification (TICC) services for the regulated global gaming industry, following receipt of required regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal is being framed as a structural first for the sector: a control acquisition by a private equity sponsor of a major regulated gaming testing laboratory, opening a market that has historically been difficult for institutional capital to access due to the licensing and regulatory complexity involved. Visualize said the successful approval process reflects regulator confidence in the partnership.

Headquartered in Las Vegas and founded in 1981, BMM Testlabs supports gaming product suppliers, operators and regulators across six continents. The company said it employs more than 700 professionals across 16 offices worldwide and holds more than 700 regulatory and related business licences, giving it one of the broadest regulatory footprints in the industry.

Visualize positioned the transaction as significant for North America’s regulated testing and inspection market, noting that the need to maintain hundreds of licences across dozens of jurisdictions has traditionally insulated these businesses from institutional ownership. With those approvals now secured, the firm said BMM becomes the first institutionally owned platform of scale in the space and is positioned to act as a consolidator as demand for compliance infrastructure rises alongside market expansion and regulatory evolution.

Commenting on the closing, Martin Storm, President and Chief Executive Officer of BMM Testlabs, said: “Today marks the beginning of an exciting and ambitious new chapter for BMM. Gaming regulators across the globe have endorsed this partnership through their approvals, and I am proud of the trust we have built over more than four decades. With Visualize’s support, we can now invest aggressively in our people, our technology, and our global footprint in ways that were not previously possible. Our customers should expect faster turnaround times, expanded jurisdictional coverage, deeper technical capabilities, and a level of service and partnership that no other testing laboratory in the world can match. We are building the definitive platform for gaming compliance, and we are just getting started.”

From Visualize, C. C. Melvin Ike, Founder and Managing Partner, said the investment aligns with the firm’s focus on markets where regulatory complexity creates durable demand. Ike also referenced the scale of the regulated gaming market globally and described BMM’s long-established licensing base and regulator trust as a competitive moat that would be difficult and time-consuming for new entrants to replicate.

In outlining its own profile, The Visualize Group describes a strategy of concentrated investing in mission-critical, services-based companies, particularly those operating in regulated environments. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in New York, the firm said it is led by C. C. Melvin Ike—formerly a Managing Director at Blackstone—alongside senior investment professionals with experience across firms including Veritas Capital, Golden Gate Capital, Silver Lake and HIG Capital, and backed by institutional investors such as endowments, foundations and family offices.
