New Mythology Series release delivers Japanese spirits, Ultra Mode Free Spins and progressive features
Spinomenal has kicked off the new year with the launch of Kami Reign Ultra Mode, the latest addition to its popular Mythology Series, delivering a feature-rich slot inspired by Japanese folklore and spiritual symbolism.
Set deep within a mysterious twilight forest, the game features a 5×4 reel layout positioned beneath an eerie torii gate, surrounded by blooming cherry blossoms. An oriental-inspired soundtrack enhances the atmosphere, drawing players deeper into the enchanted environment as the action unfolds.
Four Japanese spirits and evolving gameplay
Kami Reign Ultra Mode centres around four powerful Japanese spirits, each introducing unique mechanics throughout the Free Spins journey:
- Kitsune, the Fox Spirit
- Raijin, the Thunder Demon
- Jorōgumo, the Spider Woman
- Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess
Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except the Free Spins symbol, with five Wilds on a payline paying x300 the bet. During the base game, win multipliers can appear while the reels are spinning, boosting wins by x2 or x3.
The Japanese Maple Tree acts as the standard Free Spins symbol, with three triggering the Free Spins feature. Each trigger advances players through the four spirit-led Free Spins stages.
Ultra Mode and enhanced Free Spins features
Landing the Ultra Scatter Free Spins symbol, represented by the Divine Cherry Blossom Tree, enhances every Free Spins stage, unlocking Ultra Mode mechanics.
The Free Spins journey begins with Kitsune’s Guaranteed Wins, where any losing spin triggers a respin that guarantees a win. Advancing further unlocks Raijin’s Sticky Wilds, where Sticky Wild symbols can appear during spins and remain locked until the Free Spins round ends. In Ultra Mode, each respin increases a multiplier, starting at x2 and rising with every additional respin in the same sequence, before resetting after a win.
The third stage introduces Jorōgumo’s Synced Reels, where two random reels become identical on every spin. When Ultra Mode is active, three reels are synced instead, significantly increasing win potential.
The final stage, Amaterasu’s Stacked Wilds Respin, triggers respins whenever a stacked Wild fully lands on a reel. In Ultra Mode, stacked Wilds are guaranteed across reels one to five, with two fully landed stacked Wilds triggering a respin.
