Sharp Vision secures regulatory technology contracts in Portugal and El Salvador

The French RegTech company will deploy online gambling monitoring solutions for the SRIJ in Portugal and the LNB in El Salvador

Public authorities in two distinct regulated markets will deploy Sharp Vision technology to strengthen their oversight of online gambling activity.

The French RegTech company has signed contracts with Portugal’s Gambling Regulation and Inspection Service (SRIJ) and El Salvador’s Lotería Nacional de Beneficencia (LNB), marking its first deployments in Europe and Latin America.

Sharp Vision says its regulatory technology is already deployed in more than six countries. Its modular platform centralises and analyses market information in real time, giving regulators greater visibility of licensed and unauthorised online gambling activity.

The system enables authorities to monitor licensed operators, identify potentially illegal offerings, document suspected infringements and improve player protection. It can also support the modernisation of regulatory processes by consolidating information that may otherwise be distributed across different systems.

Regulators retain control over the information analysed through the platform and remain responsible for all enforcement and regulatory decisions. Sharp Vision also trains the relevant regulatory teams to operate the technology independently.

Portugal targets illegal gambling websites

The agreement with the SRIJ represents Sharp Vision’s first contract with a European gambling regulator.

The technology will be used to strengthen the Portuguese authority’s ability to identify and monitor websites offering gambling services without the required national authorisation.

The deployment gives Sharp Vision an initial reference within the European regulatory market and demonstrates the platform’s ability to adapt to an established licensing and enforcement framework.

El Salvador becomes first Latin American deployment

In El Salvador, Sharp Vision will deploy its platform for the Lotería Nacional de Beneficencia, the authority responsible for supervising regulated gambling activities in the country.

The contract represents the company’s first deployment in Latin America. According to Sharp Vision, the LNB will also become the first regulator in the region to use a supervisory platform of this kind.

The system is intended to give the Salvadoran authority a consolidated view of online market activity and support its monitoring, control and enforcement responsibilities.

Sharp Vision considers the two contracts evidence of increasing demand from public authorities for technology capable of supervising rapidly developing digital markets. The company is positioning its platform as a tool for improving regulatory visibility, combating unauthorised gambling and strengthening data-led enforcement.

The expansion also takes the company beyond its established African footprint, where it already supports gambling regulators in Senegal, Guinea, Benin and Mali.
