Resorts World Sentosa receives two prestigious international travel awards

Singapore casino complex voted the Best Integrated Resort at the 31st Annual TTG Travel Awards 2022

Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) received two prestigious international awards this month, reaffirming its standing as a world-class lifestyle destination resort.

RWS was voted the Best Integrated Resort at the 31st Annual TTG Travel Awards 2022, held in Bangkok, Thailand on 22 September 2022. Pivotal to the win were the strong strides the RWS team has taken to raise the bar of excellence in setting exemplary standards of the resort’s sustainable hospitality practices and offerings.

RWS has earned the prestigious title of Best Integrated Resort every year since 2011. Organised by TTG Asia annually (except for 2020 and 2021 when global travel was muted due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the TTG Travel Awards is one of the most coveted and influential awards to be won and honours the best of the best in the Asia-Pacific travel trade.

Ms Loh Su Kim, Senior Vice President of Sustainability at RWS, who collected the award in Bangkok, Thailand, on behalf of the integrated resort, said the accolade by the travel industry was a validation of the integrated resort’s unwavering dedication to deliver remarkable lifestyle experiences.

“We would like to thank all the travel agents who have been part of our amazing journey through the last decade and for our 10th Best Integrated Resort Award by TTG. We have been through good times together, and some tough times too such as in the last two years of the pandemic. But we have always worked together to support and look out for each other, and we will continue to do so in the years ahead,” said Ms Loh.

“We have embarked on exciting plans to expand our offerings at RWS which will provide new and exciting visitor experiences. Our expansion plan, RWS 2.0 will add a mix of all-new exciting attractions, as well as entertainment and lifestyle offerings to the destination resort. Universal Studios Singapore will feature a highly immersive themed zone, Minion Land; while S.E.A. Aquarium will be tripled in size and rebranded as the Singapore Oceanarium. These are exciting times ahead for the tourism and hospitality industries and we look forward to welcoming back more international travellers.

“At the same time, fun does not have to come at the expense of the earth. We aim to be a global leader in sustainable tourism, and we are very proud to have been certified as the first destination in the world which meets both the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s Destination Criteria and Industry Criteria for Hotels. With the rise of sustainable tourism globally, our ongoing efforts to make our integrated resort more sustainable will appeal to a new wave of sustainable tourism.”

Earlier this month, RWS was also named Asia’s Leading Theme Park Resort 2022 by World Travel Awards – an accolade that the integrated resort had also clinched in 2019 and 2020. In 2021, RWS was also named by World Travel Awards as Asia’s Leading Fully Integrated Family Resort. One of RWS’ hotels, Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, was also named for the second year in a row as Asia’s Leading Theme Hotel.

Looking ahead towards the year-end, visitors to RWS can enjoy a pipeline of specially curated thematic offerings that are second to none. RWS’ highly anticipated marquee event Halloween Horror Nights 10 will begin this month at Universal Studios Singapore and run until November 2022. In October 2022, RWS will recognise the world’s greatest wines at the second edition of Wine Pinnacle Awards with a specially curated programme and new awards categories. To be held between 28 October and 1 November 2022, the five-day exclusive premium event will also feature Wine and Dine Sessions, Masterclass Experience, and a Wine Industry Symposium helmed by the who’s who in the industry. There is always something new and exciting for the guests to experience at RWS. Guests can also look out for the array of year-end festive offerings and celebrate with their loved ones at the premier integrated resort.

With sustainability as one of its key business priorities, RWS has made further strides in its sustainability journey by being the first destination in the world to be certified as a destination which meets both the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s Destination Criteria and Industry Criteria for Hotels. RWS had also received the SACEOS MICE Sustainability Certificate Intermediate Tier for Venue in 2021 and won the Special Award for Sustainability for the second consecutive year at the Singapore Tourism Awards 2022. These green accolades further give a nod towards RWS’ ongoing sustainability efforts as it continues to align its progress with Singapore’s long-term sustainability plans.
