Licences for exclusive exploitation of gambling in Estoril and Figueira da Foz
The Ministry of Economy and Sea (MEM) of Portugal, has notified that, for a period of 30 days, public tenders may be submitted for international bidders for the concession of the exclusive exploitation of casinos in the gambling areas of Estoril and Figueira da Foz.
The procedural parts of each of these tender competitions are available in https://www.saphetygov.pt and interested parties can submit their proposals until 23:59 on 18/09/2022.
Applications for tender may apply to public bidders or equivalent companies, established in a Member State of the European Union or in a Member State signatory to the Agreement on the European Economic Area which is linked to administrative cooperation in the field of taxation and the fight against fraud and money laundering, provided that, in the case of foreign companies, they have a branch in Portugal.
Participation in the public tender procedure depends on prior registration, free of charge, on the electronic contracting platform, available on the aforementioned website that also allows access to the procedure and its competing parties, also free of charge, in accordance with the provisions of the Law.
Public procurement of these two invitations to tender is effected by Means of Notices of Procedures Nos 2022/S 159-453885 and 2022/S 159-453886, published in the Official Journal of the European Union No JD/S S159 of 19.8.2022 and by Notices 10566/2022 and 10567/2022 published in the Diário da República, No 160, Series II, Part L, of 19 August.
The current concessions of the gambling areas of Estoril and Figueira da Foz end on December 31, 2022, after the exceptional extensions for the years 2021 and 2022 determined by the pandemic situation caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
