IGT-Led Consortium Selected to Win Italy Lotto License Through 2034

IGT-led LottoItalia consortium set to secure Italy Lotto License until November 2034, backed by €2.23 billion in investments

International Game Technology PLC (NYSE: IGT) has announced that the Judging Commission for the Italy Lotto License has proposed awarding the prestigious concession to the LottoItalia consortium, led by IGT and comprised of Allwyn, Arianna 2001, and Novomatic Italia. The final award is expected to be confirmed by Italy’s Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM) within the next 35 days.

The new license will run until November 2034 and extends IGT’s long-standing role as the operator of one of the world’s largest and most successful lottery systems. IGT and its predecessor companies have managed the Italian Lotto for more than 30 years, consistently driving innovation and leveraging advanced technology to enhance player engagement and operational efficiency.

“The Italian Lotto concession is one of the world’s most important lottery contracts,” said Marco Sala, IGT Executive Chair of the Board. “The award is very gratifying, and we are honored and excited to continue working with the ADM for nine more years.”

Vince Sadusky, CEO of IGT, added: “The €2,230 million investments in upfront fees reflect the significant value of the new license. The innovation pipeline we’ve prepared for the new license period is designed to drive Lotto wager growth, expand iLottery sales, and position us to enter Italy’s B2C iCasino and sports betting sectors.”

The financial structure of the bid includes a €2.23 billion upfront license fee, payable in three installments: €500 million and €300 million in 2025, with the balance due in 2026. IGT will maintain full operational control over the Lotto business, with consortium partners Allwyn and Novomatic contributing proportionally to the license fees and capital expenditures.

Under the new terms, the concession rate on total wagers remains at 6%, with an additional 8% digital distribution fee applicable for online channels.

IGT’s continued leadership in the Italian lottery market highlights its global strength and commitment to delivering high-performing and responsible gaming solutions. Operating in over 100 jurisdictions and with a workforce of approximately 11,000 employees, IGT continues to set benchmarks in regulated gaming innovation and service.
