IGT and Mohegan Sun marked the arrival of Wheel of Fortune Cash on Reels with a player event in Casino of the Sky
The launch event at Mohegan Sun extends IGT’s 30th anniversary celebration for Wheel of Fortune Slots, one of the most recognisable licensed slot brands in the casino sector. By pairing a new multi-level progressive title with a loyalty-member promotion, influencers and on-floor entertainment, the event shows how major slot launches continue to blend product innovation with experiential casino marketing.
IGT and Mohegan Sun recently teamed up to celebrate the arrival of Wheel of Fortune Cash on Reels™ Slots, the latest addition to IGT’s long-running Wheel of Fortune Slots franchise. The Connecticut property hosted a special event on 28 May in its Casino of the Sky for Momentum loyalty rewards programme members, including complimentary spins for 200 players, prizes, appearances by well-known slot influencers and other promotional activity.
The event formed part of the wider 30th anniversary campaign for IGT Wheel of Fortune Slots. IGT announced earlier this year that the anniversary celebration would include new product launches, in-casino celebrations, contests on Instagram and Facebook, slot influencer collaborations, a new creative campaign and additional promotional activity tied to the iconic game show brand.
Jeff Hamilton, President & GM of Mohegan Sun, said: “IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Slots continues to bring tremendous energy to our gaming floor, and we’re looking forward to extending that excitement to even more players with IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Cash on Reels™. I want to congratulate the teams involved for bringing this event to Mohegan Sun’s Casino of the Sky and pairing it with the Wheel of Fortune brand, blending the glittering environment with the glamour of the iconic game show.”
The promotion was designed specifically for Momentum members. Mohegan Sun’s event information invited the first 200 Momentum members to experience the new Wheel of Fortune Cash on Reels™ slots for free, with registration taking place at the Arena Club in Casino of the Sky.
Mohegan Sun’s Momentum programme allows members to earn Momentum Dollars and Status Points when playing with their Momentum card, including through in-person gaming and online play linked to MoheganSunCasino.com. Members can redeem Momentum Dollars across shops, restaurants, hotel stays, show tickets, golf and other amenities.
Dan Farnon, IGT SVP Sales, USA, said: “The player event at Mohegan Sun featuring IGT Wheel of Fortune Cash on Reels™ Slots created a fun atmosphere for commemorating the game’s arrival and extending IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Slots 30th anniversary celebration. Over three decades, IGT Wheel of Fortune Slots have remained player-favorites, earning a reputation for awarding massive jackpots while delivering top-tier licensed slot innovation for our customers and their players.”
Wheel of Fortune Cash on Reels™ is a new multi-level progressive game on the IGT RISE55™ cabinet. IGT describes the title as combining the recognition of the Wheel of Fortune slot brand with the high-performance mechanics of its Tiger and Dragon™ family, creating a game designed to feel both familiar and new for casino players.
The product has also featured in IGT’s broader anniversary marketing campaign. The company’s 2026 creative campaign included a visual treatment inspired by classic showmanship and culminated with Wheel of Fortune Cash on Reels™ displayed on the RISE55™ cabinet.
For Mohegan Sun, the launch adds another high-profile licensed game to one of the largest casino and entertainment destinations in the United States. The property, owned by Mohegan, includes two casinos, hotel accommodation, spas, convention and expo facilities, retail, dining, entertainment venues and a digital gaming division operating in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Ontario.
For IGT, the Mohegan Sun celebration reinforces the durability of Wheel of Fortune Slots as a casino-floor franchise. The brand’s continued extension through new cabinets, progressive mechanics and in-casino events shows how licensed slot content can remain commercially relevant when supported by fresh hardware, promotional campaigns and property-level player engagement.
