ICE Barcelona launches ICE Conference and invite-only WorldGaming Council

The redesigned 2027 content programme separates C-suite policy discussions from practical sessions focused on operational growth

ICE Barcelona will introduce a two-part conference programme in 2027 following research and consultation with exhibitors, operators and other event stakeholders.

The new structure will comprise the WorldGaming Council, an invitation-only forum for senior decision-makers, and the ICE Conference, a broader programme designed to convert policy developments and market trends into practical business strategies.

Organisers said the revised format responds to the changing requirements of an increasingly integrated and diversified international gaming industry.

WorldGaming Council limited to 350 delegates

The WorldGaming Council will operate under the Chatham House Rule and will be limited to 350 C-suite and senior government participants.

The programme is intended for legislators, government ministries, regulators, enforcement authorities, central banks, regional administrations and senior executives from gaming operators.

Representatives from international sports governing bodies, leagues, technology companies and social media platforms will also be invited.

Sessions will combine thought leadership, open debate, boardroom-style strategy discussions, curated workshops and bilateral meetings. Key subjects will include illegal gambling, emerging jurisdictions, player protection, sustainable taxation, market integrity, artificial intelligence and new gaming technologies and verticals.

Stuart Hunter, Managing Director of WorldGaming

“The exclusive WorldGaming Council is where legislators, national ministries, regulatory and enforcement authorities, central banks, city and regional governments and C-level operators, as well as global sports governing bodies, leagues and major technology and social media platforms, can debate the biggest issues facing the industry.

“The dynamic format will move between thought leadership, open debate, boardroom-style strategy sessions and bilateral meetings, prioritising decision-making and actionable solutions.”

ICE Conference focuses on practical implementation

The ICE Conference will translate policy discussions and market signals into operational insight for operators, technology providers, legal and advisory firms, consultancies and other professional service companies.

It will also target directors and their teams working across commercial strategy, marketing, product, platforms and compliance.

Panels, briefings, case studies and workshops will place greater emphasis on peer-to-peer learning and the implementation of practical responses to business-critical challenges.

“The ICE Conference will translate the market signals of the WorldGaming Council into actionable insight for operators, technology solution vendors, advisory, legal, consultancy and professional service providers.

“With the emphasis on peer-to-peer learning delivered through a mix of panels, briefings, case studies and workshops, the ICE Conference will explore how to turn policy into operational growth.”

New access model for 2027

ICE Barcelona will offer a single all-access pass for the ICE Conference. Regulatory and C-suite content will be available through an invitation-only or paid application process, with selected sessions operating under the Chatham House Rule.

Hunter said the revised programme had been shaped by market feedback and practical challenges facing contemporary operators and suppliers.

The new formats will make their debut when ICE Barcelona returns to Spain in January 2027.
