Online Gambling – Colombia experience and Peru’s market expectations
The Roundtable scheduled for September 26th on the second day of GOL EXPO PERU, the country’s first event dedicated for sports betting and online gaming, promises to serve at this table some heated exchanges.
The reason is quite simple, Internet gambling legislation in Peru is quietly building momentum and hopefully something is officially published within the next two or three weeks, and that that something is the Internet Gambling White Paper, which is likely to bring some diverse views on the proceedings.
Steady work by this title and that of our sister print magazine, Casino International Americano, in direct contact with the Peruvian gaming authorities, gives us the confidence to forecast that Latin America’s second online gaming regulated country is likely to be Peru, and fairly soon; following Colombia as an economy to attract not only much needed million-dollar investments to the country but also effecting a qualitative technological leap to expand the online retail market.
