Cirsa acquires Slots Del Sol in Paraguay

Cirsa acquires a majority stake in Slots del Sol, Paraguay’s leading online casino operator

Cirsa has entered Paraguay with the acquisition of a majority stake in Slots del Sol, the country’s leading online casino operator.

The deal gives the Spanish gaming group a new regulated market in Latin America and strengthens its online growth strategy in the region.

Slots del Sol operates its online casino through slotsdelsolonline.com. Its offer is also supported by two casinos and two gaming rooms in Paraguay, creating an omnichannel structure that fits closely with Cirsa’s wider strategy.

For Cirsa, the acquisition adds a local platform with a strong market position and established knowledge of Paraguayan players. It also gives the group a new base in a market it describes as stable, growing and supported by long-standing gaming regulation.

The company said the transaction is expected to be positive for value creation and profitability. It also said the acquisition multiple is in line with previous Cirsa transactions. The deal will be financed with available cash and is not expected to have a significant impact on the group’s leverage.

Joaquim Agut, Executive Chairman of Cirsa

“This transaction reinforces Cirsa’s strategic commitment to accelerating growth in online gaming. Paraguay represents an attractive and very stable regulated market, with solid fundamentals, and Slots del Sol provides us with a leading platform from which we can continue expanding our online capabilities in the region.”

The acquisition continues Cirsa’s push into regulated Latin American gaming markets. The company already has a strong regional presence through land-based and online operations, including its acquisition of Apuesta Total in Peru.

Antonio Hostench, CEO of Cirsa

“Slots del Sol has demonstrated exceptional performance, with outstanding capabilities in online operations. We are delighted to partner with its founding partners and convinced that we can combine our global experience and best-in-class capabilities with their local knowledge and experience to drive future growth.

“The transaction will contribute to improving the margins of our online gaming business.”

Slots del Sol has also built supplier partnerships that support its online casino offer. In 2024, Konami Gaming launched real-money online slots in Paraguay with Slots del Sol Online, marking Konami’s first online slot launch outside the United States and Canada.

For Cirsa, the transaction is more than a market entry. It adds local scale, digital capability and an established omnichannel brand in a country where the group sees clear regulatory and economic stability.

For Paraguay, the deal brings a major international operator into the market through an existing local leader. That could support more investment, stronger online product development and a more competitive regulated casino sector.

The acquisition also shows how online casino is becoming central to Cirsa’s growth in Latin America. Rather than entering with a new brand from scratch, the group is buying into a local operator with existing customers, retail presence and operational experience.
