New casino will house up to 676 machines and 24 gaming tables in a five-star hotel

Chilean group Sun Dreams is in the process of building a new property to replace the municipal casino in Iquique, following the tender awarded by gaming regulators, Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego, in June 2019. According to the tender conditions, old municipal gambling properties must be renewed or better. Sun Dreams will build a brand-new casino and entertainment centre in Iquique, which is some 1,100 miles north of Santiago.
In a statement, Sun Dreams said that the new entertainment complex in Iquique will be located on a privileged space facing Cavancha beach, where a new casino of more than 3,000 square metres will house up to 676 machines and 24 gaming tables in a five-star hotel with 120 rooms and gastronomic samplers that include at least three restaurants. Also to be constructed, an event center that will accommodate 2,000 people, 600 parking lots and a modern stage for live shows. The opening of the venue is planned for the second half of 2021.
“It’s a top-level project that we’re very proud of. It fully represents our comprehensive entertainment proposal to turn the space into an all-inclusive meeting point, where all Iquiqueños and tourists can find a unique experience of fun in a specially conditioned environment for total enjoyment,” said Raúl Ramírez, corporate infrastructure manager at Sun Dreams.
