BurraPay has launched in Nevada’s regulated gaming market with a cryptocurrency-funded sports wager at Circa Resort & Casino
The transaction marks a significant milestone for the convergence of digital assets and licensed gambling in the United States, moving crypto-funded wagering from offshore and grey-market activity into a regulated Nevada sportsbook environment. For operators, suppliers and regulators, BurraPay’s deployment at Circa Resort & Casino creates a test case for how cryptocurrency payments can be integrated with AML, responsible gaming and state-level compliance controls.
BurraPay has become the first cryptocurrency payments processor to operate within Nevada’s regulated gaming market, announcing its U.S. debut through an initial deployment at The World’s Largest Sportsbook inside Circa Resort & Casino in downtown Las Vegas. The company said it processed the first legal cryptocurrency-funded sports wager in Nevada history on Thursday, 4 June 2026.
Founded in 2015 by CEO David Greenslade and CTO Luke Millanta, BurraPay has developed its platform specifically for the compliance requirements of regulated gaming markets. The company’s offering includes two solutions: a fully embedded platform that integrates directly with casino player account management systems across land-based, iGaming and online sportsbook environments, and an over-the-counter solution designed for rapid deployment in land-based casino settings.
Both products combine real-time blockchain transaction monitoring, anti-money laundering controls and responsible gaming safeguards. According to BurraPay, the technology is built to allow cryptocurrency transactions to enter licensed gaming environments while meeting the financial compliance and player protection standards expected by U.S. regulators.
The Nevada launch is commercially important because U.S. players have continued to use offshore crypto gambling sites, while regulated operators have lacked compliant infrastructure for digital asset transactions. Nevada has long served as a benchmark jurisdiction for U.S. casino regulation, making the approval and first deployment of a crypto-funded wager in Las Vegas a notable development for the wider market.
The opportunity is also supported by broader consumer demand for digital asset payments. Recent industry research from Paysafe found that 83% of U.S. bettors surveyed were interested in using cryptocurrency to fund online sportsbook wagers where permitted, while 64% of active U.S. bettors said they owned cryptocurrency.
Luke Millanta, CTO of BurraPay, said: “Right now, billions in crypto gambling volume is flowing offshore to unregulated operators. The U.S. market has the players, the demand, and the regulatory structure – but it hasn’t had the infrastructure to support crypto in a compliant way. That’s the gap we’re filling – and Nevada is where we’re filling it first. Our technology applies real-time blockchain analytics to ensure that every transaction meets the strict financial compliance and responsible gaming standards expected at both a state and federal level.”
Where previous cryptocurrency payment products struggled to gain regulatory approval, BurraPay said it built its platform from the ground up to satisfy tier-one gaming regulatory standards. The company points to a portfolio of patented technologies covering the secure, AML-compliant use of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin in casino environments, as well as blockchain monitoring tools designed to detect potential problem gambling behaviours in real time.
Circa Resort & Casino has already shown a strong interest in Bitcoin culture and crypto-oriented promotions. Earlier this year, the property promoted CIRCA x BITCOIN, a resort-wide celebration of Bitcoin culture in downtown Las Vegas.
Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa, said: “Circa has always been bullish on sports betting and cryptocurrency, making this collaboration with BurraPay a natural partnership for us. We’re honored to have been a part of this first-to-market sports bet, which is paving the way for more history-making collaborations between the gaming and crypto industries both in Las Vegas and beyond.”
The launch also builds on BurraPay’s broader gaming-sector integration strategy. In 2025, Bragg Gaming Group announced an agreement to integrate BurraPay cryptocurrency payment solutions across its player account management and content delivery platforms, with scope for regulated markets and U.S. tribal gaming.
For Circa, the deployment reinforces its positioning as a sports betting-led Las Vegas property. The adults-only resort is located in downtown Las Vegas and features The World’s Largest Sportsbook, Stadium Swim, a two-story casino, Garage Mahal, Legacy Club and other entertainment and hospitality amenities.
For the wider U.S. gaming sector, the significance of the transaction lies in the regulatory pathway it may open. If BurraPay’s Nevada deployment proves effective, it could provide a model for other licensed casino and sportsbook operators seeking to offer digital asset payment options while avoiding the compliance risks associated with unregulated crypto gambling.
