The former Everi executive and AGA Chairman joins Aristocrat’s Board after receiving regulatory pre-approval
Aristocrat Leisure Limited has confirmed the appointment of Michael Rumbolz as a Non-Executive Director after receiving the required regulatory pre-approval.
The Board of Aristocrat has now confirmed the appointment, following the company’s original announcement on 13 May 2026 that Rumbolz had been nominated to join the Board, effective 1 July 2026, subject to relevant approvals.
Rumbolz will now hold office as a Non-Executive Director and, being eligible, will stand for election by shareholders at Aristocrat’s 2027 Annual General Meeting.
The appointment adds another senior gaming industry figure to Aristocrat’s Board at a time when the company continues to grow across land-based gaming, digital content and interactive operations.
Rumbolz brings more than 45 years of gaming industry experience. His career covers operations, manufacturing, regulation, payments, gaming technology, public-company leadership and industry representation.
He currently serves as a director of VICI Properties and sits on the board of managers of Seminole Hard Rock International.
He was previously Executive Chairman of Everi Holdings until July 2025, after earlier serving as Chief Executive Officer and President of the company.
Rumbolz also recently completed a two-year term as Chairman of the American Gaming Association. The AGA announced in December 2023 that he would become Chairman from January 2024, succeeding Jim Allen, while the association later confirmed that Delaware North CEO Lou Jacobs would succeed him after that term.
His regulatory background is also relevant. Earlier in his career, Rumbolz served as Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, giving him experience from both the regulatory and commercial sides of the casino industry.
That mix of roles should be valuable for Aristocrat. The company operates in a highly regulated sector where product strategy, market access, compliance, governance and customer relationships are closely connected.
Board-level experience in gaming regulation and US market operations is especially useful as suppliers continue to manage changing rules across multiple jurisdictions.
Aristocrat’s business now covers a broad range of gaming and entertainment activity, including Aristocrat Gaming, Product Madness and Aristocrat Interactive. That makes board composition more important as the company balances traditional gaming equipment, digital casino content, social casino and technology-led services.
Rumbolz’s background fits that wider structure. Everi gave him exposure to casino gaming products, fintech, loyalty systems and digital content. His work with VICI Properties and Seminole Hard Rock International also connects him to major land-based gaming and hospitality assets.
The appointment also supports Aristocrat’s succession and governance process. The company had already flagged Rumbolz’s nomination as part of its Board planning, subject to regulatory clearance.
That clearance is now complete, moving the appointment from nominated status to confirmed Board office.
For investors and industry partners, the confirmation gives Aristocrat another director with long experience across regulated gaming markets.
The timing is notable because supplier boards are under growing pressure to understand not only product performance, but also responsible gaming, cybersecurity, digital transformation, capital allocation and regulatory risk.
Rumbolz’s career has touched many of those areas. His experience as an operator, supplier executive, regulator and industry association leader gives him a wide view of how gaming markets work in practice.
Aristocrat’s confirmation is therefore more than a routine board update. It strengthens the company’s governance bench with a director whose career has spanned several of the most important parts of the casino and gaming supply chain.
